Over a two-and-a-half-year period, commencing May 2018, Central Fabrications worked consistently with the hospital, rehabilitation and healthcare services group, Circle Health, supplying aluminium steel work, galvanised steelwork, facias, panels, gutters, and a range of associated products for its new, state-of-the-art, £60m hospital in the centre of Birmingham.
Opened in September 2020, Circle Health Hospital covers a 14,957 square metre site and is the latest development at Pebble Mill, now a world class destination for healthcare and medical facilities in the heart of Edgbaston Medical Quarter. Also on the complex is a cancer treatment centre, Bupa care home and Birmingham Dental Hospital and School of Dentistry.
Employing some 200 healthcare professionals, Circle Health Hospital has invested heavily in new technology and provides three operating theatres that can be expanded and reconfigured to six, an endoscopy procedure room and18 in-patient bedrooms, along with specialist rehabilitation facilities. In addition, a new post-covid-19 service brings together dietitians, physiotherapists, respiratory and other specialties to help people after they have recovered from the virus.
Paolo Pieri, CEO of Circle Health, said: “For the first time in the UK, we have a state-of-the-art hospital and rehabilitation centre next door to each other. Equipped with the latest medical technology, robotics and artificial intelligence applications, our hospital rivals some of the best medical facilities in the world. Our rehabilitation centre is the first of its kind in the UK, focusing on musculoskeletal and neurological conditions, and will truly transform people’s lives.”
